Registry status
Airworthy Verified: the criteria
Airworthy Verified is a criteria-based status, checked by HVAC Registrar and re-verified every twelve months. It cannot be purchased, and paid Featured placement does not affect it.
A contractor is Airworthy Verified when all of the following are true
| Criterion | How we check |
|---|---|
| Active North Carolina heating and cooling license in good standing, class displayed | State board license search; number, class, status and qualifier recorded with the check date |
| Certificate of insurance on file (general liability; workers' compensation where required) | Uploaded at claim; expiry tracked |
| Google rating of 4.5 or higher with at least 50 reviews, or an equivalent documented review base | Read from the public profile at verification and shown with an "as of" date |
| No unresolved state board disciplinary action or unanswered BBB complaint pattern | Public records check at verification and annually |
| EPA 608-certified technicians handling refrigerant | Attested at claim; certificate on request |
| Listing claimed and accurate: NAP matches the Google Business Profile, services and hours current | Compared at verification |
What it does not mean
It is not a guarantee of workmanship or price, it is not an endorsement, and it is not affected by advertising spend. It means the public facts a homeowner should check before hiring have been checked, on a stated date, and were in order.
Registered vs Airworthy Verified vs Featured
Registered means the owner has claimed the listing and confirmed the basics. Airworthy Verified means the criteria above are met. Featured is paid placement at the top of a city page, capped at three per city, always labelled, and available only to Registered or Verified contractors. Details for contractors · Report a listing.
