These terms govern your use of https://hvacregistrar.com, operated by HVAC Registrar ("HVAC Registrar," "we," "us"). By using the site you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the site.
What HVAC Registrar is — and isn't
HVAC Registrar is an information directory and referral service. We list HVAC contractors, show license status we've checked against public North Carolina records, publish homeowner guides, and can connect you with contractors. We are not an HVAC contractor. We do not perform, supervise, or guarantee any HVAC work, and we are not a party to any contract between you and a contractor. Any work is between you and the contractor you hire.
License information — accuracy and limits
License status is taken from public records of the North Carolina State Board of Examiners of Plumbing, Heating and Fire Sprinkler Contractors, as of the date shown on each listing. Records change, and we may not reflect a change immediately. Always verify a contractor's current license, insurance, and standing yourself before hiring, directly with the State Board. A listing — including a "verified" or badge status — is not a guarantee of a contractor's work, character, or current licensure, and is not our endorsement or recommendation of that contractor.
Quotes and the referral service
When you request a quote, we may share your request with one or more license-verified contractors so they can contact you. A real HVAC price requires the contractor to assess your home; any figures on the site are general ranges, not quotes. You choose whether to hire, and you contract directly with the contractor.
Our fees (disclosure)
Referral fee. When we connect you with a contractor and you hire them, that contractor may pay us a referral fee. This does not increase the price you pay.
Managed-service (concierge) fee. If you choose our optional managed service, you pay a separate, clearly disclosed flat fee for us to review the contractor's written quote, re-confirm license and insurance, check that a permit is pulled, and act as a point of contact. This fee is for our advisory service only. It is not a markup on the contractor's price, and choosing it is entirely optional. It is billed only if you proceed to hire the contractor, per the terms shown at the time of the request.
We do not set, hold, or add to the price of the HVAC work itself.
For contractors
Listings are compiled from public records. Claiming a listing means you confirm you are authorized to represent that business and that the information you provide is accurate. Featured placements, referral arrangements, and any paid services are governed by separate agreements. You may request correction or removal of your listing at team@hvacregistrar.com.
Acceptable use
Don't use the site to break the law, scrape or copy the database, misrepresent yourself, submit false requests, or interfere with the site's operation. The site's content, structure, and data compilation are ours or our licensors' and are protected.
No professional advice
Our guides are general information, not professional engineering, legal, financial, or safety advice for your specific situation. HVAC work can involve refrigerant, gas, and electrical hazards; use a licensed professional. We are not liable for actions taken based on general information here.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The site is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We don't warrant that listings, license data, or content are complete, current, or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, HVAC Registrar is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for the acts, omissions, work, or conduct of any contractor. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months before the claim.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify HVAC Registrar against claims arising from your misuse of the site or your dealings with a contractor found through it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, and disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in North Carolina.
Changes
We may update these terms; continued use after changes means you accept them. The effective date above will change.
